This is my attempt to upgrade the front brakes on my 1977 RA23 Celica. The standard brakes consist of solid rotors and single-piston calipers. While they are "adequate" for street use, this car will see a bit of action on the track, so better brakes are a must! I acquired a pair of struts (with brakes attached) from a 1984 MA61 Supra, and this is how I went about fitting them to the Celica. The original plan was to put the complete MA61 struts in the Celica. They will physically fit, but once you put it all back on the ground you discover the front wheels have a fair bit of positive camber. It's too much do be dialed out with adjustable strut tops, so this idea was abandoned.

OK new plan: we'll put the MA61 hubs/rotors on the RA23 strut. This
will eliminate any problems with suspension geometry. They fit perfectly
(the spindle is the same), but the caliper isn't even close so some
fabrication work is required.

Here the caliper mount is nearly finished; the top and bottom edges
have been folded over, and the piece on the left is the spacer.
